Welcome to The Culture Thesis. Let's talk pop culture.

The Culture Thesis

*Digable Planet's "Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)" begins playing here"

And so it begins. Yes. I am really listening to Rebirth of Slick right now. It's on repeat. It feels right.

What is The Culture Thesis? It's a place for you and I to discuss and dissect all things pop culture. It's a place to ask questions and get (or at least demand) answers.

This is a space where nothing is held back. We'll discuss any and everything. I'll be writing about albums, music videos, books, podcasts, movies, and television. Anything that has to do with pop culture will be here.

The point of The Culture Thesis is not to report the news, but to talk about it. I want to ask the important questions. Would Birdman have become the next P. Diddy if the tour bus plan had worked? Who is Rita Ora? Why do networks keep making reality shows about Atlanta? Why did it take Disney so long to make another Incredibles movie when that was the only movie where it actually made sense to have a sequel? Does Meek Mill realize a ghostwriter doesn't get a writing credit on an album?

We'll delve into personal things, such as my complicated relationship with Taylor Swift ("I Knew You Were Trouble" is the jam and her marketing team is amazing, but she also is a top reason why I'm often rolling my eyes), my diminishing love for Christina Milian, and why I hate Superman. You know, the things that really matter. Maybe it can help somebody. (Read that as sarcasm folks.)

I'm excited. And I can't wait to get started.

More to come.
